IBM LAN Server 4.0 - Quick Start

Welcome!

Quick Start guides you through the Easy Installation
for a server and requesters and tells you how to
create user IDs, share directories, and share your
network printer. Use the Tailored Installation
described in LAN Server: Up and Running! to add or
 remove advanced features.

The LAN Server installation and configuration
program checks for appropriate hardware and
software. To be sure that you have the hardware
and software you need before installing, refer to
Required Hardware and Software and Supported
 Network Adapter Cards.

The instructions in the following topics direct you to
select items or open objects. To select an item,
place the mouse pointer over it, and click mouse
button 1. To open an object, place the mouse
pointer over the object's icon, and double-click with
mouse button 1. Within a window, you can access a
field by pressing the Tab key or by placing the
mouse pointer over the field and clicking mouse
 button 1.

To display one of the following entries, use mouse
button 1 to double-click on the entry.
